On the evening of December 21, 2024, at approximately 9:00 p.m., deputies from the Orange County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a shooting in the 500 block of Hungerford Boulevard, near Eatonville, Florida. Upon arrival, they discovered 41-year-old Levin Grant Livatt Jr. suffering from a gunshot wound. He was promptly transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
In the days following the incident, family and friends gathered to honor Livatt Jr.'s memory.
A vigil was held on Samuel Street, close to the site of the shooting, where mourners lit candles and released balloons into the night sky. Josephine Wilson, Livatt Jr.'s aunt, described him as a "beautiful person inside and out" and a devoted father to his 18-year-old daughter. She expressed hope for justice, stating, "I hope whoever did it, I hope they get punished for this, because it wasn't necessary in no kind of way."
As of now, the investigation remains active and ongoing. The Orange County Sheriff's Office has not released information regarding any suspects or potential motives. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the case to come forward to assist in their efforts to bring those responsible to justice.
