On January 1, 2023, 11-year-old Amethyst Sistine "Ame" Silva was tragically killed by a stray bullet during New Year's celebrations in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was outside her family's residence at the Allure Apartments on Middlecoff Road, welcoming the new year, when she suddenly exclaimed "ouch" and collapsed. Despite her family's immediate efforts to seek medical assistance, Amethyst was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after.
