On the night of January 17, 2023, at approximately 10:10 p.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting incident in the 4300 block of Spring Avenue, located west of Parkdale Lake and southeast of Cotton Bowl Stadium. Upon arrival, officers discovered that an unknown assailant had fired into a residence, striking two individuals. One of the victims, identified as 52-year-old James Edward Deckard, was transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The second victim sustained injuries ...
