On April 9, 2017, 24-year-old Alfonso J. Calderon was fatally shot on the Southeast Side of Chicago. His death was part of a series of violent crimes tied to gang activity in the area. Calderon was suspected of being a rival gang member, and his murder was orchestrated by members of the Latin Kings street gang, who targeted him as part of their ongoing territorial conflicts.
