On May 6, 2023, Aishwarya Thatikonda, a 26-year-old resident of Allen, Texas, tragically lost her life in a mass shooting at the Allen Premium Outlets mall. She was among the eight victims who were fatally shot during this incident. Aishwarya, originally from Hyderabad, India, was working as a project manager for a construction firm in Frisco, Texas. She had moved to the United States to pursue her master's degree and had been residing in the country for several years.
