On August 28, 2023, in Allen, Texas, the bodies of Layla Sherwani, her husband Farman, and their two sons, 12-year-old Shaheen and 2-year-old Mateen, were discovered in their home during a welfare check. The Allen Police Department indicated that the incident was a murder-suicide, with all four individuals dying from gunshot wounds.
