On May 8, 2023, a tragic drive-by shooting occurred in San Antonio, Texas, claiming the life of 2-year-old Mackenzie Hernandez-Garcia. The incident took place around 1:30 p.m. at a residence in the 100 block of Future Drive, near West Avenue. Mackenzie was standing near the front door when she was struck by bullets, resulting in fatal injuries to her head and torso. Inside the home were five other children, aged between 2 and 6 years old, who fortunately were unharmed.
