On May 28, 2023, in Killeen, Texas, 79-year-old Chu Cha "Chay" McGranahan-Valentine tragically lost her life after being shot in the head by her husband, 73-year-old Terry Lee Valentine. The incident occurred in their home, where Mr. Valentine was reportedly showing a firearm to a relative when it accidentally discharged, fatally wounding Mrs. McGranahan-Valentine.
Following the incident, a grand jury indicted Mr. Valentine on a state jail felony charge of criminally negligent homicide
