Christopher Bess, a 31-year-old African American man from Centreville, Illinois, was tragically shot and killed on February 28, 2021. The incident occurred early Sunday morning in the 500 block of Alabama Street. According to reports, Centreville Police responded to the scene and found Bess with gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 3:35 a.m. The Illinois State Police assisted Centreville authorities in the investigation of his death.
