On May 31, 2023, 19-year-old Jonathan Rodriguez was fatally shot in Texas City, Texas. The incident occurred on Texas Avenue near Third Street, where multiple 911 callers reported the shooting, with one providing a description of a vehicle believed to be involved. Upon stopping the vehicle, police discovered Rodriguez inside, critically injured. He was transported to HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland Medical Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
