Kameron Henderson, a 21-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on May 31, 2021, in Texas City, TX. The incident occurred just after midnight on Memorial Day when Henderson was followed from a gas station to The End’s Sports Bar located on FM 1765. According to reports, Henderson was shot in the upper thigh/groin area and was subsequently taken to HCA Mainland Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Henderson's family has been left devastated by his untimely death. His mother, Nacale Hackney, expressed her grief, stating that her last words to her son were "I love you." Henderson was well-known in the community and was a standout football player at La Marque High School. His step-father, Nathan Edwards Jr., described him as having a big heart and being a beloved member of the community.
The events leading up to the shooting involved an altercation at a Shamrock gas station on FM 1765. Witnesses reported that Henderson got into an argument with individuals in a black car who then followed him. When Henderson confronted them, they began shooting at him, causing him to run back to the store. Despite the efforts of the police and the family's plea for justice, no suspects have been identified, and the case remains unsolved. Texas City Crimestoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest.
