On June 5, 2023, at approximately 12:20 a.m., Dallas police officers responded to a shooting incident in the 6000 block of C.F. Hawn Freeway, near the Trinity River Audubon Center and Crawford Memorial Park. Upon arrival, they discovered a vehicle that had crashed near the westbound lanes. Inside the driver's seat was 49-year-old Clifton Morris, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
