On the night of June 9, 2023, in South Dallas, 34-year-old Johnathan Jones was fatally shot following a vehicular collision. At approximately 11:45 p.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting call in the 300 block of South Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers found Jones with gunshot wounds; he was transported to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Investigations revealed that the incident began when an unidentified suspect crashed into Jones's car.
An argument ensued between Jones and the suspect, during which the suspect shot Jones. The suspect fled the scene, and as of the latest reports, their identity remains unknown.
