On June 13, 2023, at approximately 7 a.m., 25-year-old Jordan Johnson was fatally shot on West Commerce Street near South San Marcos in San Antonio, Texas, close to the Bexar County Jail. According to the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office, Johnson sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Johnson had been residing at a nearby homeless encampment.
A friend of his informed the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) that Johnson had previously engaged in an argument with two individuals, suggesting that one of them might have returned to commit the shooting. Investigators expressed hope that surveillance footage from local businesses could assist in identifying the perpetrator.
As of December 27, 2024, there have been no publicly reported arrests or identification of suspects in connection with Jordan Johnson's death. The case remains unsolved, and authorities continue to seek information that could lead to the apprehension of those responsible.
