On June 20, 2023, Geoffrey Jones, a 40-year-old resident of Dallas, Texas, was fatally shot during an altercation at the Nolen Grand Apartments on Perryton Drive in the Oak Cliff area. Jones frequently visited his mother at this complex and was there on the evening of the incident to attend a barbecue with friends he had recently met.
