On the evening of October 20, 2023, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting incident in the 13000 block of Esperanza Road, near Central Expressway. Upon arrival, officers discovered 27-year-old Thomas Tycion Burns lying in the street with a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Another adult male victim was also found with gunshot injuries and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
