On the evening of November 10, 2023, at approximately 8:40 p.m., 51-year-old Reynaldo Lopez Jr. was fatally shot while inside his residence in the 300 block of Ceralvo Street on San Antonio's near west side. At the time of the incident, Lopez was in his bedroom, accompanied by his mother and a friend, when unknown assailant(s) fired multiple rounds into the home. Tragically, Lopez was struck by the gunfire, collapsed, and succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
San Antonio police responded to the scene but found no shell casings or witnesses outside the home, leaving investigators with minimal leads regarding the identity of the shooter(s). The lack of physical evidence and eyewitness accounts has significantly hindered the progress of the investigation.
In the wake of this tragedy, Lopez's family has been vocal in seeking justice, appealing to the public for any information that could lead to the apprehension of those responsible. His brother, Rene Lopez, described Reynaldo as a generous individual who "wore his heart on his sleeve" and was always willing to help others. The family finds some solace in the belief that Reynaldo was reaching out to God in his final moments.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and the suspect or suspects remain unidentified.
