The police discovered shell casings from a handgun and a rifle at the scene, indicating that multiple firearms were involved in the shootout. Witnesses reported seeing a white vehicle flee the location, and the police are searching for a white sedan or Jeep-type vehicle.
In connection with the shooting, Fernando Gonzalez Canedo, a 19-year-old male, was arrested and charged with the murder of Luis Mario Garcia. According to the arrest warrant affidavit, surveillance footage showed Canedo arriving at the scene in a white SUV. The footage also captured Luis driving by the white SUV, which then turned around to follow his car. Messages on Luis's phone indicated that he had told a specific person to come over to him, suggesting a pre-arranged meeting. The footage revealed that both vehicles left the camera view, and shortly after, gunshots were heard. Canedo was later found with gunshot wounds to his stomach and face, which he claimed were the result of a robbery while on his way to the gym. However, investigators believe that Canedo's injuries were sustained during the gunfire exchange with Luis.
