Patrolman William M. Lacey, aged 38, tragically died on November 29, 1900, in San Antonio, Texas. He was a member of the San Antonio Police Department and had only been on the force for two days when he was killed. Lacey was shot and killed accidentally by a man he was protecting during a labor dispute.
