On November 18, 2023, 20-year-old Malachi Lopez was fatally shot outside his residence at the Cashel Springs apartments, located at 14222 Wunderlich in north Harris County, Houston. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. Precinct 4 Constable deputies responded to the scene and found Lopez with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital in critical condition and succumbed to his injuries the following day.
