On November 8, 2023, deputies from the Culberson County Sheriff's Office responded to a call in a remote subdivision approximately 23 miles south of Van Horn, Texas. Upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless body of 25-year-old Christopher Jones, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The Texas Rangers were called in to assist with the investigation.
