On December 6, 2023, at approximately 6 p.m., Garland Police Department officers responded to a report of a male subject lying in the street in the 3900 block of Roanoke Drive, Garland, Texas. Upon arrival, they discovered 15-year-old Russell Deangelo Jefferson, who had sustained gunshot wounds to the cheek, neck, and chest. Despite immediate medical attention, Jefferson was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
