On December 10, 2023, at approximately 6:50 p.m., 65-year-old John Davis was involved in a shooting incident in southwest Houston. A friend had picked him up from a store located at 10310 West Bellfort Avenue, with Davis seated in the backseat of his own vehicle. As they drove past an unrelated minor accident in the 9800 block of West Bellfort, an unknown assailant opened fire on their car.
