On May 29, 2022, Mark Aguilar Jr., a 23-year-old Hispanic man from Houston, TX, was fatally shot while waiting for food outside a taco truck on Irvington Boulevard. Aguilar had been picking up food for his wife and was sitting in his car when two men approached him and shot him multiple times. He died at the scene, leaving behind his wife and a 2-year-old daughter.
