On December 27, 2023, at approximately 9:15 a.m., 51-year-old Morland Smith was fatally shot in the 9500 block of Scyene Road in Dallas, Texas. Smith had stopped at a local shopping center to purchase breakfast when he encountered 22-year-old acquaintance, Jamarcus Irving.
