On February 19, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting in the 500 block of W. Wheatland Road in the Red Bird neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers found 20-year-old Jeremiah Tutson and a 17-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to a local hospital, where Tutson succumbed to his injuries. The 17-year-old was hospitalized in stable condition and is expected to survive.
In the days following the incident, the Dallas Police Department sought the public's assistance in identifying a vehicle of interest. They released an image of a red Dodge Charger, believed to be a 2017 to 2020 model, with black rims and black side-view mirrors. This vehicle was reportedly seen in the vicinity of the shooting around the time it occurred. Detectives urged anyone with information about the car or its occupants to come forward to aid in the investigation.
As of now, no arrests have been announced, and the investigation remains active.
