In the early hours of February 25, 2024, 35-year-old Noel Espronceda Frometa was fatally shot during a home invasion in southwest Houston. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. at his residence in the 5300 block of Castlecreek Lane, where he lived with his wife and two young children. According to reports, three armed suspects entered the home, instructing the family to get on the ground before shooting Espronceda Frometa multiple times in front of his family.
Surveillance footage from the property revealed suspicious activity leading up to the invasion. Approximately an hour before the incident, an individual approached the family's truck, opened the passenger door, and then walked away. Later, around 2:24 a.m., another person was seen walking up the driveway, passing the truck, and approaching the house. Shortly thereafter, the home's lights turned off, and individuals were observed entering through a side door. The suspects, described as three males wearing ski masks, fled the scene after the shooting.
Espronceda Frometa's family has expressed profound grief over the loss. His stepdaughter described him as a good father and emphasized that he had no known enemies, leading the family to believe the motive was robbery. She urged those committing such crimes to cease their actions, highlighting the devastating impact on innocent lives.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the case. The Houston Police Department continues to investigate and has appealed to the public for any information regarding the suspects or suspicious activity in the area during that time. Authorities have stated that they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public but are seeking leads to apprehend those responsible.
