On February 26, 2024, at approximately 6:41 p.m., the Ector County Sheriff's Office (ECSO) responded to a call regarding an unresponsive individual in the 200 block of South Tripp Avenue in Odessa, Texas. Upon arrival, deputies discovered 27-year-old D’Marion DaJohn Jackson deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. The ECSO Criminal Investigation Department, in collaboration with the Texas Rangers, initiated a homicide investigation.
As of now, there have been no reports of arrests or identification of suspects related to Jackson's death. Authorities have urged anyone with information to contact the Ector County Sheriff's Office at (432) 335-3585.
Jackson was born on November 12, 1996, in Odessa, Texas, to Barry Woods and Stephanie Jackson. He was known for his academic excellence, having been a straight-A student during his schooling in Odessa. He cherished spending time with family and friends and was recognized for his generosity and willingness to help others. Jackson is survived by his son, Ezekiel Ray Jackson, his mother, siblings, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, sister, maternal grandparents, and an aunt.
Funeral services were held at Martinez Funeral Home & Crematory, with visitation on March 7, 2024, and a celebration of life on March 8, 2024. A repass followed at The Star Party Venue.
