On March 22, 2024, at approximately 3:40 a.m., Longview Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting at the EZ Mart convenience store located at 700 Gilmer Road in Longview, Texas. Upon arrival, they discovered that 18-year-old Tyquan Mumphrey had sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound to the head. He was transported by private vehicle to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
