On May 5, 2024, in north Harris County, Texas, 47-year-old Shawn Leonard Williams was fatally shot by his 24-year-old stepson, Lazarus Richard Williams. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. at their residence in the 12000 block of Meadowview Drive. Earlier that evening, both men had attended a neighbor's crawfish boil, where they reportedly consumed alcohol.
Upon returning home, an argument erupted between Shawn and Lazarus, escalating into a physical confrontation.
During the altercation, Shawn retrieved an airsoft gun and pointed it at Lazarus. In response, Lazarus armed himself with a real firearm and fired a single shot, striking Shawn in the upper torso. Shawn was pronounced dead at the scene by responding emergency personnel.
