Kelvin Jackson, a 25-year-old African American man from Houston, Texas, tragically lost his life in a shooting incident on February 10, 2025. The fatal encounter occurred at an apartment on West Montgomery Road in the early hours of the morning. According to reports, Jackson was attempting to intervene in a heated dispute between his wife's brother, 23-year-old Chris Batiste, and Batiste’s girlfriend.
The situation escalated when Batiste, who had reportedly been holding his girlfriend against her will and threatening her with a firearm, refused to let her leave. In response, she reached out to family members for help, prompting Jackson to step in.
Upon arriving at the apartment, Jackson and Batiste engaged in a physical altercation, during which they struggled over the firearm. Tragically, Jackson was shot during the confrontation and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
