On May 18, 2024, at approximately 5:40 a.m., Dallas police officers responded to a shooting incident in the 3400 block of York Street in South Dallas. Upon arrival, they discovered 23-year-old Curtis Dowell suffering from a gunshot wound. Dowell was promptly transported to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
