On the night of Saturday, December 6, 2025, a violent altercation unfolded in the Old East Dallas neighborhood, drawing a significant police response to the 2700 block of Samuell Boulevard. Around 10:20 p.m., Dallas Police Department officers arrived at the scene, which was located near the Del Mar Seafood & Oyster Bar, following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, first responders discovered a 26-year-old male, Christian Velasquez Rosas, suffering from a gunshot wound.
The circumstances leading up to the violence reportedly involved an argument that escalated, though investigators initially worked to determine whether the incident occurred inside the business or in the adjacent parking lot.
Emergency medical personnel transported Velasquez Rosas to a local hospital for urgent care, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The Dallas Police Department subsequently classified the case as a homicide, documenting it under case number 174753-2025. In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, a man contacted 911 to report his involvement in the incident. Officers detained this individual at the scene and transported him to police headquarters for questioning by homicide detectives.

Following his passing, a visitation was scheduled at his family home in Terrell, Texas, with a graveside service arranged at Pleasant Mound Cemetery.
