On May 22, 2024, a fatal road rage incident occurred on U.S. Highway 54 in El Paso, Texas, resulting in the death of 45-year-old Agustin Avila. The altercation took place in the northbound lanes near the Fred Wilson exit around 3:11 p.m. Avila sustained gunshot wounds during the confrontation and was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
