On May 26, 2024, 80-year-old Heidi Silkworth was fatally struck by a stray bullet in San Antonio, Texas. Silkworth, a resident of Euless, Texas, was in town to attend a relative's high school graduation ceremony at the Alamodome. The incident occurred around 10 p.m. near the 600 block of East César E. Chávez Boulevard as she was leaving the event. Silkworth was a passenger in a vehicle when she was hit in the head by a bullet resulting from a nearby shootout.
