In the spring of 1993, 56-year-old Robert Joseph Thompson embarked on a journey that would seemingly lead to his disappearance. In May of that year, Thompson left his home in Sarasota, Florida, with the stated intention of relocating to Colorado. He was a white male, standing at 6 feet tall and weighing around 200 pounds, with graying, partially balding hair that he combed over his bald spots and hazel eyes.
