On September 19, 2024, at approximately 1:04 p.m., Killeen Police Department officers responded to a report of a gunshot victim in the 2200 block of Botanical Drive. Upon arrival, they found 18-year-old Octavion Keshun Tucker suffering from a gunshot wound. He was airlifted to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, Tucker was pronounced deceased at 3:03 p.m.

Following an investigation by the Killeen Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division, 19-year-old Austin resident Jacorri Zahary Stevenson was identified as a suspect in Tucker's murder. A complaint was filed with the Bell County District Attorney's Office, leading to an arrest warrant issued by Justice of the Peace Nicola James. On September 21, 2024, Stevenson was apprehended in Austin by Robbery-Homicide detectives and transported to the Killeen City Jail. He was arraigned with bond set at $1 million and subsequently transferred to the Bell County Jail.
On December 4, 2024, a Bell County Grand Jury indicted Stevenson for the murder of Octavion Tucker. As of December 27, 2024, Stevenson remains in custody at the Bell County Jail, awaiting trial.
