On September 22, 2024, at approximately 12:39 a.m., Killeen Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 2200 block of Wheeler Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered 22-year-old Dirkshawn Bryan Jr. lying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers immediately initiated life-saving measures until paramedics arrived; however, Bryan succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Nicola James at 12:48 a.m. An autopsy was ordered and perfor ...
