On September 22, 2024, at approximately 12:39 a.m., Killeen Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 2200 block of Wheeler Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered 22-year-old Dirkshawn Bryan Jr. lying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds.
