On October 9, 2024, Houston police responded to a call reporting the discovery of human skeletal remains in the backyard of a residence located at 8533 Lee Otis Street. Upon arrival, investigators from the Houston Police Department (HPD) and the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences confirmed the remains were human. An autopsy later identified the deceased as 42-year-old Jason Flintroy and determined that he had suffered a fatal gunshot wound.
