On January 1, 2023, 44-year-old Jimmie Wiedeman was found deceased in his residence on Fox Lane in Lincoln, California, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
Surveillance footage from within Wiedeman's home captured four individuals entering the premises around 1:30 p.m. on the day of the incident. Shortly after their entry, Wiedeman was shot multiple times. The suspects were seen leaving the scene in a white pickup truck.
Nearly a year later, on December 28, 2023, the Placer County Sheriff's Office, with assistance from the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office, arrested 63-year-old Eric Olsen in connection with Wiedeman's death. Olsen was taken into custody in El Dorado County.
Investigations revealed that earlier in 2023, Olsen had been convicted as an accessory to murder for a 2021 incident in Yuba County.
The Placer County Sheriff's Office has indicated that the investigation remains active, particularly concerning the identification and apprehension of additional suspects involved in Wiedeman's homicide. Authorities have not yet disclosed the motive behind the killing.
