On February 2, 2023, 15-year-old Omar Espinoza Rivera of Chino, California, was fatally shot during an altercation in the parking lot of Montclair Place mall in Montclair. The incident occurred around 8:10 p.m. Responding officers found Omar with gunshot wounds to the chest; he was transported to a local trauma center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
