On March 6, 2023, at approximately 1:15 a.m., a tragic shooting occurred at a residence on Rogue River Drive in Sacramento County's La Riviera neighborhood. Among the victims was 59-year-old Sacramento resident, Jack Vernon James Jr., who was pronounced dead at the scene alongside 66-year-old Vicki Lynn Bright. Two other individuals sustained critical injuries; one of them, 63-year-old Bob White, succumbed to his injuries on March 9, bringing the total fatalities to three.
