On March 18, 2023, at approximately 10:50 a.m., 16-year-old Cameron Stokes and 25-year-old Brian Chevez were fatally shot near the pool area of The Village Apartments on Valle Del Oro in Newhall, California. Both victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso and were pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses reported seeing an adult male reach over the pool fence, discharge a firearm multiple times, and then flee toward the apartment complex's parking lot.
