On June 3, 2023, 25-year-old Bryan Barrios-Marroquin was fatally shot in Richmond, California. His body was later discovered inside a burning pickup truck near the Oakland Zoo in the 9500 block of Mountain Boulevard in Oakland. Initially, the incident was investigated as a suspicious death until an autopsy revealed that Barrios-Marroquin had died from a gunshot wound.
