In the late summer of 2021, concern began to grow for 51-year-old Kevin Winters, a man who had made a life for himself on the island of Maui, Hawaii, far from his family in Michigan. Known for his free spirit, Kevin had moved to Maui in 2007 and for over a decade had worked as a housekeeper at the North Shore Hostel in Wailuku in exchange for a place to stay.
