On July 5, 2023, at approximately 11:25 a.m., deputies responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 100 block of Camino Corto in Vista, California. Upon arrival, they found 37-year-old Juan Valdovinos suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper torso. Despite receiving immediate medical attention at the scene and being transported to a hospital, Valdovinos succumbed to his injuries.
