On July 22, 2023, at approximately 3:21 a.m., 32-year-old Jessie Muñoz of Los Angeles was fatally shot during a robbery on Angeles Crest Highway near mile marker 28.36 in Pasadena, California. Muñoz and a female companion were parked at a scenic viewpoint when they were approached by assailants. During the robbery, Muñoz sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. His companion was robbed but remained unharmed.
