On August 7, 2023, at approximately 2:50 a.m., a shooting occurred at the intersection of Firestone Boulevard and Hooper Avenue in the Florence-Firestone area of South Los Angeles. The incident took place during a street takeover event, a gathering where participants block intersections to perform dangerous driving maneuvers.
