On August 15, 2023, at approximately 4:43 a.m., Long Beach Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 3400 block of Andy Street. Upon arrival, they discovered 36-year-old Michael Alex Toloai with gunshot wounds to his upper body. Paramedics from the Long Beach Fire Department arrived shortly thereafter and pronounced Toloai deceased at the scene.
