On October 23, 2023, at approximately 11:44 PM, Hollister Police officers responded to reports of a shooting victim in the 1000 block of Monterey Street. Upon arrival, they discovered 45-year-old lifelong Hollister resident, Jacob Leonard Arballo, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical attention, Arballo was pronounced dead at the scene.
